5:00pm on October 7, 2024 at the ETSU Martin Center. Vote for Bike Layne. You can help make a difference.
As some of you may know, Bike Layne is one of the eight projects participating in ETSU Elevates, a program designed to help students create projects intended to solve issues within the community. Bike Layne’s goal is to help improve bikeability in this region. One of the ways in which Bike Layne hopes to tackle this issue is through installing more bicycle parking around the tri-cities, starting in Johnson City.
On October 7, 2024 at 5:00pm, Bike Layne will be competing against the other seven Elevates projects in a pitch competition at the ETSU Martin Center. This project could earn up to $3000 to help cover costs of a few bike racks. And you can help Bike Layne earn $1000 more! There is a fan favorite category, so by showing up and voting for Bike Layne, you can actively help to improve the bikeability of this region.
If you have any ideas about places you would like to see have bike racks or even suggestions on what types of racks to use (and which to avoid), leave a comment on this post.
For more information about ETSU Elevates, click here. Each project has a small promo video to introduce the students and what their projects are about. You can find all of them at the official ETSU YouTube and Instagram for that. They will continue to be posted throughout this week.
